Jimmy Butler doesn’t regret comments toward Fred Hoiberg, thinks things will
Following their second consecutive loss suffered in the hands of the New York Knicks (107-91) last Saturday, Butler had some comments about head coach Fred Hoiberg’s coaching.

“Do I regret it? No”. “We addressed it in the meeting”, Butler said. On Saturday against the New YorK Knicks, Noah scored a season-best 21 points and added 10 rebounds in 29 minutes.
One source told the Sun-Times that there are several players that often simply laugh when told of Butler’s latest thumping-of-the-chest leadership proclamations, and while Derrick Rose seems to be completely detached from the situation, his camp is very annoyed by all things Butler these days. Butler blamed the controversy on the media (of course) and insisted that he wasn’t calling out his coach (despite the fact that he called out his coach by name), but didn’t walk back the core sentiments. “I take responsibility for us being out there and not being ready to go”.
“We’re going to be here so I think we have to make it work”. We’re going through a lot right now as a team. “And I know that we will”. Hoiberg was asked Monday if he needed to be harder on the team.
“Are there some things I can do better?”
The only long-term sure thing is Butler, who is in the first year of a five-year, $94 million deal and looks like a lock to make his second straight All-Star team. Absolutely”, Hoiberg said. “Are there some things I need to demand probably a little bit more? “It’s about staying consistent with that and continue to build off what made us a successful team that week”.
“Yeah, you can’t hide the elephant in the room”, Butler said of the comments.
“Yeah, we lost one I didn’t want to lose at home against Detroit and the way that we lost against NY”. And it’s a learning curve for everybody. “Not high school, not junior college, and not here”. “Then I’ll do ice, stim, a lot of conditioning”.

“I think so”, he said.
“Me. Truthfully, I mean that”. “I think I took the easy way out with my frustration”. And then if they see me react like a child and pout and whine, then it gives them reason to do so. When I’m out there with whoever, they might be in a different position because they’re out there with Jo (Noah) or Pau (Gasol), two totally different style players.
“You can’t guarantee you’re going to make shots every night, but you can go out and compete every night”, said coach Lionel Hollins, whose club has a league-worst 30.9 3-point percentage. “I have to be”. “I have to be because he signed here for five years, I signed here for five years”. We were not doing what we were supposed to be doing, what we wrote up on that board before the game. It’s about accepting that and moving forward.

“It’s tough. Jo is definitely our emotional leader”, Hoiberg said.
