Jimmy Fallon took to Instagram Friday to document his latest injury, a chipped tooth, while also assuring his “Tonight Show” viewers that a new episode would air that evening. Don’t expect Jimmy to mention the chipped tooth though.
“The fall was amusing “, Fallon admitted during the July 13 broadcast.
If Google images are anything to go by, it is a surprisingly common injury in which a ring gets caught on something and strips the flesh completely from the finger bone.
Not to mention Fallon nearly had to have his finger amputated!
The hand injury required roughly a six-hour micro-surgery in order to save his finger and put Fallon in the ICU for 10 days.
Fallon posted a photo of himself at the dentist’s office on Friday, explaining his latest adventure in deformity. How ironic could it be?

He shared the photo above on Instagram today with the caption, “Chipped front tooth trying to open tube of scar tissue fix gel for recovering finger injury”. Jimmy captioned it. Despite the unfortunate incident, the comedian still managed to show his sense of humor by putting the hashtag #BestSummerEver before adding, “Brand new Tonight Show tonight!”
