Jimmy Fallon, Conan, ‘The Late Show’ Band Pay Tribute To David Bowie

“David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer”, read a statement on Bowie’s Facebook page dated Sunday.

The crowds united around Brixton’s Ritzy cinema and sang a number of the pop legend’s hits, including Starman, Changes, and Ziggy Stardust. The funeral will likely be in NY, according to Metro, since Bowie lived in an apartment in Manhattan.

Legendary producer Brian Eno – who last worked with Bowie on his 1995 album Outside – paid tribute and revealed the musician emailed him a week ago, in what he now realised was a goodbye message.

Rod Stewart has described David Bowie as the “fearless leader of the pack”.

Elsewhere, a planned concert at New York’s Carnegie Hall will now go ahead as a memorial to the singer. “He was fun, he was always amusing, and we want to take a second here and look back at the fun moments I had with Davie Bowie over the years”.

In a brief slot speaking to camera, she said: “I haven’t seen him in so many years, I can’t make a big drama out of it. It just feels like an era has ended with his passing”.

Music journalist Paul Stokes says the singer’s latest offering may have given “some insight” into his illness.
