As the world pays tribute to David Bowie, tributes have also poured in from the French Riviera, where the British rock legend was a regular visitor.

Speaking on CBS’ 60 Minutes programme in 2003, he said: “I was never particularly fond of my voice”.

Brit Awards chairman Max Lousada said Tuesday that the February 24 show at London’s O2 Arena would include “a fitting tribute to one of our greatest icons”. Released on Bowie’s 69th birthday just two days before he died, Blackstar is described by The New York Times as “at once emotive and cryptic, structured and spontaneous and above all, wilful”.

Organizers for The Music of David Bowie, originally billed as tribute concert, have changed the concert to a musical memorial show.

A source told the newspaper: “In many respects you don’t need a memorial or service to remember David by… you have his music instead”. That’s more than double the number-two album on the chart.

Three retrospectives of his work and three original albums have all broken into the Top 40.

Bowie turned 69 on Friday, the same day he released his latest album called “Blackstar”. Bowie released 25 records over his career including legendary opuses like The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Station to Station, and many others.

“I thought that I wrote songs and wrote music and that was sort of what I thought I was best at doing”.

She said it was the suddenness of Bowie’s death that had affected people.

Only a few details have been revealed about Bowie’s funeral so far, and we will share more information as it is available.

“His star will shine in the sky forever”.

Van Hove said that at the Lazarus premiere in NY on December 7, Bowie collapsed from exhaustion – “It was then that I realised it may be the last time I would see him”.
