Jimmy Fallon will host 2017 Golden Globe Awards
Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt announced the news at the Television Critics Association’s press tour in Beverly Hills on Tuesday.

He follows in the footsteps of Ricky Gervais, who hosted the telecast four times – from 2010-2012 and again in 2016.
It will air live on NBC beginning at 7 p.m.
The 74th Annual Golden Globes is going to have a fresh host next year.
“We’ve found the best possible host to make the evening really memorable and that’s Jimmy Fallon”, Greenblatt told reporters at this morning’s session.
Produced by dick clark productions in association with the host Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the Golden Globes kicks off awards season. On Twitter, beginning three hours before the live show and through 10 minutes after it ended, 4.4 million Golden Globe-related tweets were sent globally, resulting in a total of 1.2 billion views. Gervias specifically has been criticized by some for his controversial and politically incorrect comments while hosting the Golden Globes, so it’s not that surprising that NBC chose to go in a different direction.

The broadcast networks have repeatedly looked to in-house talent to host awards shows. The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon will take over the ceremony for 2017. James Corden hosted the Tonys on CBS in June.
