Jimmy Garoppolo: Jimmy Garoppolo goes down with shoulder injury

The Miami offense has stumbled badly. He’s headed to the locker room after getting blown up by Kiko Alonso in the second quarter. Garoppolo landed on his elbow and then shoulder and was down for several minutes being tended to by the team’s medical staff. Coach Bill Belichick came onto the field and stood nearby while Garoppolo was checked out.

The logical answer would be none other than wide receiver Julian Edelman. “It’s football and everyone’s just gotta do their job a little bit better”. They’ll have to figure it out in a hurry before Thursday night’s matchup with the Texans. Jimmy Garoppolo completed 24 of 33 passes for 264 yards and a touchdown.

Tannehill can’t gear play calls in his helmet. “We had some opportunities”.

Regardless of injuries or the score, the defense need to be more consistent and not allow a quarterback to throw for nearly 400 yards on them, or else this bend-but-not-break style of defense will soon snap.

Garoppolo is serving as QB while Tom Brady serves his 4 game suspension, part of the penalties for the Deflategate scandal. Should he be out for an extended period of time, the Patriots would only have to wait two weeks for Brady to return.

Rookie Jacoby Brissett took over for Garoppolo.

“It’s always frustrating to lose any player on any position”. “Here?” “Yes. I said what I said”.

After Garoppolo went down, the air was sucked right out of Gillette Stadium. “Whenever the opportunity comes, you’ve got to make sure you’re ready for it”.

After a quiet performance in Arizona last week, tight end Martellus Bennett proved why he was a pro-bowl tight end in Chicago. In the receiving end, Edelman posted 66 yards in seven receptions while Chris Hogan added 60 yards and a touchdown in three catches.

“I need to figure out a way to get our guys in rhythm earlier”, Gase said. The Miami receiver made his 2016 debut after missing the opener with a hamstring injury. Luke Wilson contributed 26 yards in four catches. He’s going to be a big-time player for us. We kept putting our defense back on the field after long drives.
