On Thursday night, the Green Bay Packers went into Gillette Stadium and defeated the Super Bowl-champion New England Patriots 22-11 in NFL preseason action.
Three passes to Davante Adams netted one yard and two incompletions and the Packers settled for a 25-yard field goal from Mason Crosby. Backup Jimmy Garoppolo replaced him and completed 20 of 30 passes for 159 yards, with one interception.
On the other side, quarterback Aaron Rodgers for the Packers expects to play a bit in this warmup game. He went 11-for-19 for 117 yards and led a field goal drive. Washington tight end Niles Paul injured his left ankle in the first half and was carted off the field with an air cast on his left leg. Browns linebacker Craig Robertson rolled up on Paul’s leg during a running play. But before everyone gets too excited, they made those plays against Patriots backup QB Jimmy Garoppolo. On the second drive, the Packers had 4th-and-inches but didn’t convert. He needs a lot of preparation before the first regular season game on September 10 against the Steelers.
The second-year second-stringer handed off to Jonas Gray on a 55-yard touchdown run, then pitched it to Gray for the 2-point conversion. Crockett ran two more times for a first down at the 5, but the Packers took a knee to end the game. On a 4th-and-3, Janis beat Logan Ryan off the line and Tolzien lofted the pass in for the score. He threw for 57 yards, completing his only two pass attempts – both to Tate. Ka’Deem Carey scored on a 1-yard run late in the third period that gave Chicago a 17-10 lead and finished with 34 yards rushing. In the second half, he was intercepted by LaDarius Gunter, who returned it 28 yards to the Packers 29. Green Bay isn’t the best defense in the league however they can create trouble. “Scott had the offense at a high tempo, and I thought Brett did some good things”.

As of right now, Brady is suspended for the first four games of the season. That’s largely due to the fact that both Bill Belichick and Mike McCarthy are in systems that love to focus on draft and develop, so unlike numerous preseason games that happened on Thursday night, this game actually should have featured talent up and down the majority of the 90 man roster.
