Jimmy Kimmel Just Called Out #OscarSoWhite In Emmy Opening Monologue
On the eve of the 2016 Emmy Awards, host Jimmy Kimmel took to Instagram to gush about his last-minute prep and simultaneously brag about his very special ghostwriter: his daughter. “If Trump builds that wall (between the United States and Mexico), the first person we’re throwing over it is Mark Burnett. The tribe has spoken”, he joked, referencing another Burnett show, Survivor.

Bush asked Kimmel if he was a nominee for an Emmy award, and when Kimmel said yes, Bush said, “Wow, what’s that like?”
“If it wasn’t for television, would Donald Trump be running for president?”
The Emmys opened with a pre-taped bit in which Kimmel was in danger of arriving late.
Jimmy Kimmel told the Emmys audience that he had his mom make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for everyone at the awards’ ceremony and he wasn’t kidding. – Kimmel after Master of None’s Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang were played off the stage.
Louis-Dreyfus then apologized for the current political climate.
Kimmel got some high-profile help onstage when Matt Damon came out, munching on an apple, to mess with Kimmel after he lost an Emmy to John Oliver. “If you want to win, sit next to Marcia Clarke”, he says, bringing huge laughs from the crowd.
Beginning the show, Kimmel ran out into the audience and handed Jeffrey Tambor a statuette, saying, “Alright, that saved us 22 minutes. what else?” She has won the Emmy three times.
