Jimmy Kimmel to host ABC’s Emmy broadcast airing Sept. 18
After early reports that Kimmel was in talks to host, the news was officially announced early Monday morning. ABC confirmed this morning that the host of the Primetime Emmy Awards, which will take place on Sunday, September 18, 2016, will be none other than late night host Jimmy Kimmel! He previously presided over the 2012 ceremony, which was also on ABC.

This story was first published on CNN.com, “Jimmy Kimmel to host 2016 Emmys”. The American TV host and producer said on Tuesday that he has a great feeling towards the next Emmy event.
“I am hosting the #Emmys on Sunday Sept 18”, the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host, 48, tweeted on Monday.
Kimmel now hosts and executive produces ABC’s longest-running late-night talk show, the Emmy-winning “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, which has been on the air for 13 years.
Nominations for the Emmy Awards will be announced July 14.

ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey agrees, saying today that Kimmel is a “consummate showman”, and that viewers should “expect to be at the edge of your seat for a bigger, bolder and better-than-ever Emmy event”.
