Jimmy Walker wins a marathon at the PGA Championship
“Golf is not an easy game and Jason is a true champion and I wouldn’t expect anything less than an eagle at the last – it’s unreal”.

Jason Day: Eagle on the 18th by the world’s top-ranked player put pressure on Walker.
Meanwhile, Henrik Stenson admitted that he struggled for most of the final round as he shot a one over par 71 on Sunday to end the tournament -8 and tied for seventh.
PGA 2016 Golf Championship live stream online is available on PGA.com from 11:00-7:00 PM.
Golf: Jason Day eagles the final hole of the PGA Championship in a valiant effort to steal the lead from Jimmy Walker.
Hallmark has already started working on plans for a celebration at Cordillera Ranch to honor the newly minted major champion this week.
The two have made quite the duo over the past eight years on the PGA Tour, and Sanders said this could be just the start of an even brighter future for Walker.
Haigh’s argument that such drastic measures are unusual in major championships looked slightly ridiculous when it was decided that players would play from preferred lies – otherwise know as lift, clean, and place – in the final round on Sunday.
The year’s final major championship appeared to be heading for today’s finish at best as Americans Jimmy Walker and Robert Streb, tied on nine-under-par 131, lead through 36 holes. I am sure he will probably be somewhat aggressive in the soft conditions as there will be more birdies to shoot for. I thought I played some decent golf, but it wasn’t one of those golf courses that really suited me.
The final round figured to be the toughest, especially with the cast of characters behind him.
The moments that defined Walker’s win were spaced around the course: One, was a hole-out bunker shot for birdie on the 10th hole that gave a two stroke cushion; and, energised, he rolled in 30 footer for birdie on the 11th to claim the necessary cushion to make the journey home one of avoiding any disaster and letting others come at him.
“Then we made birdie but sometimes things just don’t come easy”.
“I hit a great 2-iron down there (off the tee) and I just said, ‘Let’s just try and finish off with a bang, try to give him something to think about, and just keep pushing forward”. “I’m very, very happy with how I played all week”.
Jimmy Walker surprised the golfing world when he ended the day at 5-under-par to top the first round PGA Championship leaderboard on Thursday, at Baltusrol GC, Springfield, NJ. “My wife did it for me and I just washed a few extra”.
Unlike the British Open two weeks ago, this is hardly a two-man race.
Even so, he went 66-67 over the final two rounds and tied for fourth, five shots behind.
Walker first played Baltusrol at the 2000 U.S. Amateur as a 21-year-old in his senior year at Baylor.
Better yet: It moves him into position to secure a spot on the Ryder Cup team. McGirt, who is from Fairmont and played collegiatey at Wofford, got near the leaders Sunday afternoon, finished birdie-birdie on the par-5 17th and 18th holes. He and his family had taken ill last week, so Day didn’t arrive here until Tuesday and only got in one practice round.
He finished at 14-under 266, one shot from David Toms’ record score in the 2001 PGA Championship.

“Six birdies on the last 10 holes, couldn’t ask for a better finish”.
