Jio tariff plan just right to capture mass market
The billionaire businessman told shareholders that Reliance Industries undertook the largest capital expenditure in India’s history five years ago, investing 2.5 trillion rupees in the country.

“Customers should pay for only one service, either voice or data. Jio Digital Life will give the power of data to each Indian, to fulfill every dream and collectively take India to the global digital leadership”, it states.
Another global investment research firm, Bernstein said Jio’s Rs 499 plan is slightly above the average revenue per user base in India. The company also proclaimed that the subscribers could avail the Jio’s Bouquet of services till 31 December for free. You’ll also get 8GB of access from Reliance Jio’s upcoming network of Wi-Fi hotspots, further increasing the amount of data you can use.
The free voice offer may force them to slash voice charges for fear of losing customers, which will erode their earnings. The data rates being offered is also the cheapest in the world and will cost Rs.50 per GB.
The analysts have said that Reliance Jio’s entry into the Indian telecom market will help in decreasing the monthly bills of comsumers. “I believe that these are the absolute lowest data rates anywhere in the world”, he said.

The announcements came against the backdrop of a series of discounts and freebies offered by existing layers like Airtel, Vodafone and Idea during the past month, ostensibly to ensure customers stay with them, even after the commercial launch of Jio. The service is officially launched on September 1 by Chairman Mukesh Ambani at the Reliance AGM.
