JJ Abrams explains deleted scenes from ‘The Force Awakens’
“The Force Awakens” is set 30 years after the Battle of Endor at the end of “Return of the Jedi”. If you’ve seen it already, we can delve deeper into what Episode 8 might be about and more.

I’m going through a terminal case of the Christmas blues right now, and the last thing I want to talk about is Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. “Or, having that moment happen concurrent with that moment actually gets in the way of both – things like that”. That would confirm Rey is the daughter of Luke Skywalker.
In a recent interview with The Associated Press, Abrams detailed his decisions (along with editors Mary Jo Markey and Maryann Brandon) on what footage landed in The Force Awakens and what was sent down the garbage chute.
In the event that I say this is a commendable continuation of the tremendously cherished Star wars, will that announcement suffice? Once she recognises that she can feel the Force, she begins to use it. If it doesn’t work at first, she keeps trying until it does work. In The Force Awakens, we have a young person who is living a life that they are not satisfied with, dreaming of something bigger. She did not have proper training but was able to resist Kylo Ren’s mind tricks.
Some perceived her as nearly too flawless, leading screenwriter Max Landis to call her a “Mary Sue” (a term for a wish fulfillment character who stands in for the audience – or the writer – and can do no wrong).
This is spoiler-free, but suffice it to say that the movie brought back the magic, the thrill, the mystery in nearly every scene. Luke Skywalker sought the training of Yoda. She fondly remembers the Ewoks, Jabba the Hutt and all the other characters from the original movies and was intrigued by numerous newest characters, especially Rey and Finn. Finn was kidnapped from his family as a young child to train to be a Stormtrooper. 3PO and R2 D2 all make it worth our while and the entertainment never really ceases. There was a rumor he could be the son of Lando Calrissian.

For all that we all wanted to be surprised, Star Wars fans watched those first few Force Awakens trailers over and over again, to the point that we all noticed certain shots that didn’t make it into the film. The First Order attempts to rule the galaxy and only a rag-tag group of heroes can stop them, along with the help of the Resistance. Since Mark Hamill didn’t have any lines, that one obviously either got cut or was always meant to be part of Episode VIII. Johnson has also been tasked with writing the screenplay for Episode IX, but Colin Trevorrow will direct instead.
