JJ Abrams: Person Of Interest Is Likely In Its Final Season
It was recently reported that J.J. Abrams, the executive producer of “Person of Interest” stated that there is a huge chance that the show will be cancelled after its season 5.

Praising the series, Abrams – who was at TCA for his upcoming Hulu series “11.22.63” – continued, “The only heartbreak there is how much good story there was to come if it were to have continued”.
“Person of Interest” debuted in September 2011, featuring Jim Caviezel as the former Central Intelligence Agency agent John Reese hired by billionaire Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) to stop crimes before they could even begin with the help of a state-of-the-art surveillance system known as “The Machine”.
“My guess is [Season 5] is the final season. I know what these episodes are that they’re done wrapping it up”, Abrams added. Television, was renewed for a fifths season in May – but has not been scheduled.
When asked for the official release date of the fifth season of “Person of Interest”, Abrams did not reveal a clear answer. “I know the power of that story”, he said. The series, from Jonah Nolan and J.J. Abrams, was left off the CBS fall schedule, it was given a partial order and has not been scheduled yet.
One main reason CBS is not likely to readily renew “Person of Interest” is because it is a series that is produced by Warner Bros. Obviously, things can become malleable and adjust based on, I suppose, miraculous performance of this thing.
“We haven’t aired the show yet, and I’m not sure”, Geller noted. “I think Jonah and Greg would kill me if I said anything other than it’s fantastic”, he says. “But, I do love that show!”
As for when that will be, we still don’t know, but expect CBS to plug it in when the time is right for them.

“So it seems officially the ball is still in CBS’s court and until then, the series” future will continue to be in limbo.
