JJ Abrams Says Star Trek 4 Won’t Recast Anton Yelchin

“So one of the reasons that I’m hoping [Star Trek Beyond] does well is so that we can, without question, get that movie made”, Abrams said about Star Trek 4, or whatever it ends up being called.
When asked if the death of the character would be written into the next instalment, Abrams answered: ‘I have thought about it, we’re working on it, and it’s too early to talk about it’. (Abrams is still a producer.) That means a lot of action, but what’s most-notable about the new film is how closely it hews to Gene Roddenberry’s original TV series, at least in spirit.
“His parents are here tonight, and we loved their son”, J.J. Abrams told the crowd. The Russian-born Yelchin died in an accident last month at age 27.
Star Trek Beyond is one of the upcoming American science fiction film which is going to release on 22nd July 2016.
“We had no idea just how devastating events would become”, the producer admitted, referencing Anton’s shock death.
He was excited to step in because, as he explained, Star Trek is celebrating its 50th anniversary and the franchise was “something that I grew up with”. Star Trek Beyond have collect a poistive response from the critics as well.
A amusing prologue finds the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise rescuing Capt. Kirk (Chris Pine) from a goofy crisis.
Actor Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock, said: “For it to last for half a century, it’s a really important milestone”. Returning to reprise their roles alongside Pegg are Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoë Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, and the late Anton Yelchin while Sofia Boutella, and Idris Elba join the cast.

Pine said promoting Star Trek Beyond, in which Yelchin played Pavel Chekov, had been a “difficult” task.
