July 22, 2016 #Texans DL JJ Watt had back surgery recently, source said (as @McClain_on_NFL reported).

Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt is as tough as it gets. He also played through a broken hand last season and a herniated disk.

Watt spent most of the off-season recovering after having surgery to fix a groin injury in January.

Watt has already admitted he’s unsure of how long he can last physically in this game. Watt to start the upcoming season.

Watt, who wasn’t expected to play in the upcoming preseason, anyway, suffered an elbow injury in 2012 and didn’t play in a preseason game. That’s more than any other player during that same time frame. This comes as a red flag heading into the week before training camp starts for the Houston Texans. In that time, he has racked up 74.5 sacks, including a league-leading 17.5 last season.
