The new script book is based on Rowling’s theatre production which officially opened in London’s West End on Saturday, shortly before the book was released.

The accompanying script of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child script is also being published.

Though the new books will give readers a look 20 years into Harry’s future, tonight Barnes & Noble will be recreating all of the memorable scenes from previous books, from the sorting hat, to the whomping willow.

JK Rowling speaks to media upon arriving for the opening gala performance of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, at the Palace Theatre in London.

The cast is anchored by the adult trio of Jamie Parker as Harry, Noma Dumezweni as Hermione Granger and Paul Thornley as Ron Weasley.

“This is the next generation, you know”.

Many fans are torn about whether or not to treat this latest story as Harry Potter canon, although some say that if the story has Rowling’s blessing that’s good enough for them.

The first seven Potter books sold more than 450 million copies worldwide, spawning eight blockbuster movies, midnight book release parties and legions of devoted followers.

To celebrate the release of the book, Barnes & Noble stores in both Merritt Island and West Melbourne held special events leading up to midnight.

But that doesn’t matter to Harry’s many fans.

Rowling has long insisted there will be no new Harry Potter novels, so excitement about the new stage story is stratospherically high.

As mentioned above, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” has been in preview, which means that some lucky muggles have already had the opportunity to watch the play.

“He goes on a very big journey during these two plays and then, yeah, I think we’re done”, she said.

“I’m really excited to see what Harry’s going to be like 19 years after, besides beating Lord Voldemort”, said one young Potter fan, waiting for the release.
