JK Rowling Threatens To Sue MP In Twitter Row
The Twitter accounts of Rowling and McGarry fell quiet until suddenly, McGarry offered an apology (if we can call it that?) to the Harry Potter writer.

Ms McGarry’s incredible online accusations came about after she discovered Ms Rowling conversing with a tweeter she claimed was a troll.
JK Rowling has publicly criticised MP Natalie McGarry for accusing her of supporting a “misogynist Twitter troll”.
Just moments after, Rowling responded to the now-deleted tweet, demanding McGarry expand on her accusation.
Realising that she was causing quite a stir, Rowling finally shared: “Thank you very much, Natalie, and I’d like to ask anyone following me who is being less than polite to you to stop”.
You tweet support of a misogynist abuser.
Ms McGarry apologised before tweeted a screenshot of Ms Rowling’s tweets to the account, next to one of the offensive comments made by the “Brian Spanner” account.
Ms Rowling had previously described the user as a “good man” when he raised money for a charity.
“This “proof” is cut and pasted”.
“If you remember when I did the first film, she’d only written three or four books, so nobody knew where it was really going except her. And its was important for her that I know something, but she only gave me a tiny piece of information which helped me think it was a more ambiguous route”.
Rowling pointed out the tweets had been taken out of context, all occurring throughout different conversations, and then edited together to make it appear Rowling approved of the harsh words on Ian Blackford.
McGarry withdrew from the SNP whip last November after revelations linking her to an allegation that tens of thousands of pounds in donations may be missing from Women for Independence, the campaign group she helped found. “On reflection, I do apologise for any misguided inference that you support misogyny or abuse instead of the folk you tweet”.

She later said damages would go to Lumos.
