The month’s record performance has been driven by strong sales of the Land Rover Discovery Sport, the Jaguar XE and the F-PACE.WHITLEY, UK: Tata Motors owned luxury vehicle manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover has reported its best ever July retail sales of 44,486 vehicles, up 34 percent compared to July 2015.

The first phase of the recall has been targeted in mainly warm-weather states and U.S. territories, including Alabama, California, Florida, Louisiana, and Texas.

A total of 1,08,000 vehicles are affected and the first phase of the recall will involve 54,000 vehicles.

Jaguar-Land Rover reports that parts are expected to be available later in the year.

Given the size and complexity of the recall, replacement parts are not immediately available for the affected vehicles. These models are being recalled for faulty front passenger side airbags.

Recalls seem to be very common and of them the Takata airbag related recall seems to be never ending. The unsafe components can be found in the 2009-2011 Jaguar XF and 2007-2011 Land Rover Range Rover. Prolonged exposure to combined high heat and humidity can cause the affected inflators to degrade, increasing the risk that the front passenger airbag module inflator housing may rupture and deploy abnormally in the event of a crash, potentially resulting in metal fragments striking the passenger or other occupants.

None of Jaguar Land Rover’s current model year vehicles are affected by the recall. We are yet to get a word from JLR India, a recall might be issued here as well.

Last year, the automaker recalled about 36,500 of its Range Rover Evoque SUVs in China following a negative report by local media.
