Joanna Jedrzejczyk hasn’t quite reached superstar status quite yet, but if the punishing striker scores another memorable win at UFC 193, she’ll be well on her way. She was injured, she was not able to fight on November 14.

Letourneau is just days away from challenging formidable champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and made the admission when asked about the challenges of being a woman in a traditionally male dominated sport. The Polish champ, undefeated with 10 wins and zero losses, faces a tough matchup against Canada’s Valerie Letourneau. If not for a thumb injury, they’d likely be fighting here and the eventual rematch of their bout from last December is already a must-see fight for 2016, especially given that plenty of people scored the fight in her favour and she’s coming off a one-sided decision win over Jessica Aguilar. There are challengers that will come at her, including Valerie Letourneau this weekend, but Jedrzejczyk’s skills are such that she’ll be incredibly tough to beat no matter who comes after her title. But what’s even more incredible is that during his reign as the 185-pound champion, all but two of Silva’s wins came by way TKO, KO or submission. Claudia Gadelha was viewed as the top fighter in the organization’s newest division, Season 20 of The Ultimate Fighter was in full swing and Paige VanZant had yet to make her promotional debut.
