The union had been due to begin a rolling overtime ban on Monday after serving a 72 hour strike notice Thursday night.

There’s no word on whether any progress is being made in talks between Canada Post and its largest union that could avert a postal strike on Monday.
In the same statement, CUPW said Canada Post relies too much on overtime, demanding the postal service hire more staff as opposed to adding hours to the existing workforce.
“We are hopeful that a negotiated settlement may be achieved, but we remain prepared to defend our members and public postal services”.
But NDP Canada Post critic Karine Trudel called the push for legislation “troubling”, warning that it would “only serve to stack the deck against workers and prolong the dispute, not resolve it”.
Worldwide online seller eBay has also stepped in with a campaign to urge sellers to write to the Prime Minister urging him to pass legislation to put an end to the ongoing labour dispute.
The mail should continue moving in Nelson as Canada Post and CUPW continue to bargain for a contract.
Hamilton said he could not comment on specifics of the agreements, but he said: “Some things stay the same, such as the pension, as we look to what long-term solutions make sense”.
Both eBay and Etsy have said they will protect sellers in the event of a mail disruption in Canada.
You may see Canada Post workers on the picket line within the next 24 hours if an agreement isn’t reached.
