Jodie Meeks Suffers Jones Fracture In Right Foot

Jodie Meeks suffered a Jones fracture in his right foot in the Detroit Pistons’ second game of the season.

Meeks, who is in his second season with the Pistons, missed 22 games last season with a stress reaction in his lower back. “He plays one exhibition game and he goes out”.

“I’ve just seen it on paper”.

The 28-year-old Meeks, a sixth-year pro from Kentucky, had averaged 8.5 minutes per game in the first two games of the season for Detroit, both wins. I’ve been doing it in the preseason. “There’s no difference between the (shooting guard and small forward) in our system, so that’s actually an easy adjustment to make”. Johnson could play at either position and be in line for a slight minutes increase in what essentially could become a Bullock-or-Tolliver decision in a few games. I want him attacking. But he’s got to make better decisions.

One of Bullock’s biggest assets was playing within himself and not trying to do too much to get outside of his strengths, which are defense and protecting the ball. “He was probably the go-to guy when we had to get into half-court offense, so that’ll have to change a little bit”. The only player that’s really dribbling is (Steve) Blake. We used to run Jodie off a lot of screens. “I know what he brought to the game”.
