Someone who’s talent will be remembered most definitely by fans of voice over like me, animation and people who grew up on his voices as the voice of some of their favourite characters. RIP.
Prior to becoming a voice actor, he was a professional stand-up comedian.
You may not recognize Joe’s face, but you’ll definitely recognize his voice.
His recognisable vocals gained him plaudits including an Emmy back in 2004 for being the eponymous character in “Duck Dodgers”, with the voice artist once describing the titular hero as “an egotistical, obnoxious duck with his own show”. He also voiced Grandpa Pickles on Rugrats after 1997.
Along with Noel Blanc (son of Mel Blanc), Joe Alaskey took over many voices at Warner Bros. after Mel Blanc’s passing. He also recreated the voice of Richard Nixon for the classic 1994 film Forrest Gump and voiced Yosemite Sam in the cult 1988 movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
More recently, he provided the narration for the Discovery series “Murder Comes To Town”.

At this time no cause of death has been announced by Joe’s family.
