Joe Biden In Talks For Presidential Run

A private meeting Saturday in Washington between Vice President Joe Biden and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, a hero of the Democratic Party’s progressive wing, quickly became the talk of the town this weekend. But an aide to Biden confirmed a meeting, telling CNN: “The vice president traveled last minute to Washington, D.C. for a private meeting and will be returning to Delaware”.

“He’s done it twice, and he hasn’t had the best track record doing it”, James Carville said Sunday of Biden’s previous presidential runs, speaking on John Catsimatidis’ AM 970 radio show.

Joshua Alcorn, who is a Draft Biden 2016 senior adviser, told Fox News that it was not surprising that the vice-president would meet with Warren.

The four-term Democrat’s comments comes as chatter surrounding a Biden candidacy reaches new heights.

In recent weeks, political pundits have been gripped by reports that Mr Biden, 72, is seriously considering another crack at the presidency amid concerns Ms Clinton, the Democratic frontrunner, is losing traction.

The Associated Press has reported that Vice President Joe Biden has spent the past week evaluating the potential for a presidential run with “longtime aids and family members” from his home in Delaware.

“But I don’t know, assuming she could get over that, which I just don’t know how she possibly can, but if assuming she could, I would say it would be pretty equal”.

Former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson on Sunday told ABC’s “This Week” program that he would endorse Clinton in her bid to win the November 2016 presidential election, but said Biden would be a formidable candidate if he entered the race.

U.S. voters appear restive, often challenging presidential candidates in face-to-face confrontations about their views as they campaign for support.

Warren, despite the wishes of many Democrats and an organized Draft Warren campaign among her supporters, repeatedly rebuffed calls for her to run for the nomination herself.

He previously ran for president in 1988 and 2004, both times dropping out early in the Democratic primary process. In Ohio, 48 % stated they’d help Biden over Republican Donald Trump, giving Biden a 10-point lead over the GOP front-runner.

The way that was phrased made George Stephanopoulos immediately think he was taking a shot at Sanders for being a lifelong self-identified socialist who’s only now getting into the Democratic nomination process.
