Vice President Joe Biden spilled the beans in a radio interview set to air on Sunday that Bernie Sanders was preparing to endorse his former Democratic primary rival.

“To read into something that isn’t there is – you know what, again, I think that’s the mainstream media trying to attack Donald Trump for something that isn’t there”, he said.

“Oh, I’ve talked to Bernie, Bernie’s going to endorse her, this is going to work out”, Biden said in an interview with Rachel Martin, host of NPR’s Weekend Edition.

Clinton’s campaign, meanwhile, has been dogged by allegations that she mishandled classified emails and failed to protect US diplomats in Libya while secretary of state in Obama’s first administration.

Sanders pointed out that he and Clinton may disagree on political issues, but that has no negative bearing on her personally.

After becoming the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee at the close of the final primary polls earlier this month, Hillary Clinton proceeded to rake in the biggest fundraising haul of her campaign thus far.

Clinton’s lead had widened to as much as 14 percentage points in the past two weeks as Republican leaders criticized Trump for his opposition to global trade agreements and a string of nativist comments about Hipsanics and Muslims. He admitted to C-SPAN he will not likely be the nominee and has said he will vote for Clinton in the general election.

In the meantime, Sanders said he remains focused on influencing change in the Democratic Party, rather than endorsing Clinton.

Hold your horses, Sanders told MSNBC’s Chris Hayes shortly afterward. “I would love her to say that and I would love her to move aggressively to make that happen”. “We are not there at this moment”.
