Joe Cool: Flacco Rallies Ravens to 25-20 Win Over Browns

It was their largest lead after the first quarter since December 3, 1961, when they led the Dallas Cowboys 21-0 after one quarter en route to a 38-17 win.

The Browns, well, they haven’t changed at all.

Veteran Josh McCown will start at quarterback Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

“I recognize (cornerback) Joe Haden and there is not much more that you really are used to seeing over there, so it’s kind of amusing”.

Returning to the field where he fractured his hip for the second time in 2014, Pitta ran superb routes and gained positive yards after the catch. Typically, dead ball fouls are not counted against the previous play.

But the Ravens better avoid the kind of slow start they had in their first road game. Kicker Justin Tucker did his as well, giving the Ravens their first lead with a 49-yard field goal with 11:19 to play, and tacking on three more points with a 41-yard make with just under three minutes remaining. McCown under center gives Cleveland the best chance to win in 2016. They moved 75 yards in six plays and finished it off with a 17-yard pass from Flacco to Wallace.

The Ravens’ comeback from 20 points down in the first quarter was the second biggest in franchise history, trailing only a victory over the Arizona Cardinals in 2011, when the Ravens erased a 21-point deficit.

Following the touchdown run from Crowell, the Browns’ defense ratcheted up the pressure and forced an interception of Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco.

The Browns announced Sunday night that Erving had a “pulmonary contusion”. McCown uncorked a pass that landed in a receiver’s hands some how, but the play was called back because of an illegal man downfield.

BLOCK PARTY: Down 20-0 and needing something, anything, to get them going, the Ravens blocked Cleveland’s extra point and returned it for two points in the first quarter. “If I can get off of him and check the ball down or something but just keep the ball in play and not turn it over there at the half and not give them three, I think we let a little bit of momentum go there”.

McCown said his plan is to play next week at Miami, but he would not divulge any test results or what he’s been told by the medical staff, a sign that his injury could require him to miss some time.

“I’m sure they are”, Jackson said without saying his feelings on the specific penalty. Last year, the Ravens didn’t get their second win until November. Josh McCown found Terrelle Pryor at the 10-yard line and what followed will go down as one of the worst calls I have ever seen. He appeared to be attempting to flip the ball to the official in front of him and hit Ravens defensive back Lardarius Webb on the shoulder with the ball.

Looking at the replay, it’s clear Pryor was trying to flick the ball off his fingers to the ref, but it slipped out and fell to the ground.

Some people in the Browns reportedly think Robert Griffin III's injury will benefit the team in an unusual way
