Pep Guardiola’s attempt to clear the deadwood from his squad looks to have been a success after Joe Hart, Samir Nasri and Wilfried Bony left the club on transfer deadline day.

As the video below shows, Torino’s fans don’t seem in the least bit arsed that the 29-year-old supposedly can’t pass a ball out of his own penalty area.

Manchester City’s goalkeeper Joe Hart attends his team’s training session at the City Football Academy in Manchester, Britain, 11 April 2016.

“The tournament [Euro 2016] didn’t go particularly well for him, and he’s better than that, and I think going to Torino, there will be a lot more pressure on him than he thinks. Torino’s offer came in the right moment, with the right manner”, Hart said in a statement on Torino’s English-language website.

“I’m very excited to test myself in an important and lovely league like Serie A. The history and quality of goalkeepers in Italy is known everywhere and I’m sure than I can learn a lot here at Torino too and it is for these reasons that I accepted President [Urbano] Cairo’s offer”.

Donnarumma, widely expected to succeed Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon as Italy’s number one some time in the future, remains Milan’s first choice ‘keeper. “This is why I immediately accepted the proposal of the President with great enthusiasm”.

City were unavailable to comment on reports that Torino have booked a private jet to take Hart to Turin on Tuesday, if City approve the deal.

Hart follows a long list of English players to ply their trade in Italy, but is one of the few at the top of his game to move overseas in recent times.

Bony, who hasn’t played a minute for City under Guardiola, joined Stoke after seeing his career stall since joining from Swansea for 28 million pounds ($37 million) in January 2015.

Guardiola explained that he had dropped Hart due to his desire to use a goalkeeper more comfortable with the ball at his feet.
