Joe Hart wants loan move to Torino following Manchester City exile

Joe Hart is a transfer target for Torino after he was once again on Manchester City’s bench at the weekend, the Serie A side’s director of sport has confirmed.

The Granata are optimistic about the outcome of the deal, so much so that there is a private plane booked to take Hart to Italy tomorrow, should City give the go-ahead tonight.

Despite his current difficulties at City, Hart was named in Sam Allardyce’s first England squad on Sunday.

“The goalkeeper is an idea we wanted to follow”.

Torino are seventh in the Italian table, having finished 12th previous year, and the prospect of playing at the Stadio Olimpico is far removed from the Champions League nights that Hart believes are still his level. “Otherwise we will certainly be doing something in the market for that role”.

Everton’s interest has cooled, with manager Ronald Koeman suggesting Maarten Stekelenburg is his first choice for the season, and Liverpool appear prepared to stick with what they have, despite an injury to new signing Loris Karius.

Hart’s final game for City appears to have been their victory over Steaua Bucharest on Wednesday, which secured the club’s participation in the group stages of this season’s Champions League.
