The Jackson family patriarch sought medical help at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo on July 26 after suffering signs of a stroke, including a loss of vision, as he prepared to celebrate his 87th birthday in the country.

However, he’s now out of danger and has been doing well under his daughter’s care.

Now, according to Us Weekly, he has been transferred to a regular room at the hospital.

“Yesterday in Sao Paolo Joe had a stroke and then his heart stopped”, the publicist says. “He was at an event and he was feeling light-headed and dizzy…”

Monday, the “No Sleep” singer’s father released a statement from his hospital bed to thank relatives, friends and fans for their support and well wishes. The spokesperson noted doctors found a problem with his eye after an artery had burst behind it. Joe was kept in for further tests and it was during this time that his heart stopped for ten seconds before he was revived. “Thank you all once again for your prayers and support”, he wrote at the time. We’re told Janet limited the access to ICU, where Joe was hooked up for almost a week.

This isn’t the first time the head of the Jackson family has suffered a stroke.
