Joe Paterno Knew Sandusky’s Secret Back in ’76, Says New Doc
That man was Greg Schiano, who went on to become the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and later the associate head coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano this afternoon denied an allegation contained in court documents unsealed this morning that he witnessed sexual abuse at Penn State by Jerry Sandusky.
Not long after the documents were unsealed, Schiano told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that he never knew of any acts of abuse committed by Sandusky prior to the scandal erupting.
One of the documents reveals the testimony of a man who said he personally told Paterno that Sandusky had touched him inappropriately in a university shower but Paterno waved him off saying he had “a football season to worry about” and didn’t want to hear the accusations, the Washington Post reports. Sandusky was sentenced to a minimum of 30 years in prison after his conviction in 2012.
When he came to Pittsburgh in advance of the primary election in April, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made the baffling vow that he would “bring that back” in reference to disgraced Penn State University football coach Joe Paterno.
According to the same unsealed documents, Sandusky sexually assaulted a 14-year-old boy who attended a football camp held at Penn State in 1976.
John Doe 75 testified that Sandusky had his hand down the boy’s shorts in 1987 and it was witnessed by another assistant coach who did nothing.
The settlements paid by Penn State over sex assault claims involving ex-assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky appeared to be very high, possibly as a result of the university’s concern about publicity and a wish to resolve matters quickly, an outside expert found.
A man identified as John Doe 101 alleged in a deposition that Sandusky was improperly touching him when O’Dea walked into the room.
McQueary was the wide receivers coach at Penn State from 2004 to 2011. I was insulted. I said, ‘Is that all you’re going to do?
Penn State President Eric Barron said in a statement that the school would not comment on the materials. “Some individuals deny the claims, and others are unable to defend themselves”.
In the four-plus years since his death, the battle over Paterno’s legacy has continued to rage. “Nor did he have any knowledge of alleged incidents in the 80’s or 90’s”, Bradley’s attorney said in a statement.

Paterno told a grand jury in 2011 he first learned of Sandusky’s inappropriate sexual contact in 2001, though records show high-ranking Penn State officials dealt with a complaint in 1998 from a woman whose son had showered with Sandusky. He left in 2012 and joined the UCLA staff as the defensive coordinator in 2015.
