Joel McHale Makes Hilarious Tiger Woods Joke during ESPYs Monologue
At least one joke from comedian and ESPYs host Joel McHale in Wednesday night’s opening monologue was explosive. He took on everyone from Federation Internationale de Football Association President Sepp Blatter to Triple Crown victor American Pharoah, who he quipped was spending his offseason as any other world-class athlete would, “siring countless children”. From Jamie Foxx’s serenade of now six-time Wimbledon champ Serena Williams in 2004 with “I wanna be your tennis ball”, to LeBron James singing a version of Bobby Brown’s “My Prerogative” in 2007 just a few short weeks after losing to the San Antonio Spurs in his first National Basteball Association Finals, music is usually one of the best parts of the evening.

“Many are calling Jordan Spieth the new Tiger Woods“, McHale said of the 21-year-old golf sensation, who is now ranked second in the world.
“Which is great news for golf, and bad news for the future Mrs. Jordan Speith”, McHale said, as the camera panned to Woods’ ex-girlfriend, Lindsey Vonn. (The Olympic skier handled the joke incredibly well.). Wilson of Tampa Bay and Jason Pierre Paul of the Giants. (Both are fine otherwise, however.).

Pierre Paul got an extra special burn when McHale announced he was actually in the audience. But hey, at least it has a Super Bowl ring on it.
