Barton was nowhere to be seen after being banished from the club until Monday following his angry row with team-mate Andy Halliday and boss Mark Warburton in the wake of their 5-1 Hoops drubbing.

A Rangers statement said the club and manager Mark Warburton felt all parties now needed “time and space”.
Mark Warburton has hit back at Chris Sutton’s claim that the Rangers job is “too big for him”, taking a thinly-veiled swipe at the Englishman’s views.
Joey Barton’s career at Rangers is hanging in the balance, report the Scottish Sun.
Barton met with Warburton and members of the Rangers board in the past couple of hours and was then filmed by Sky Sports leaving the ground.
“I can not, however, apologise for caring deeply about winning and for wanting to perform better myself and for Rangers to do much better”.
“As someone who communicates directly, I accept that some of the things I said were inappropriate and for that I apologise unreservedly”. Two passionate Rangers players have then shared opinions on how we get better as a team and what’s going wrong for us. “When you look at my history and you’re told to stay away from the club, it does look like something more has happened, and that’s why I’ve chose to get on the radio and speak”.
Barton will miss the League Cup quarter-final against Queen of the South on Tuesday night, as well as the Scottish Premiership fixtures against Aberdeen and Partick Thistle, but should return for the match against Inverness on October 14th.
“I thought we won first balls in the second half against an experienced forward line they had and Clint and Danny stood up and did very well. We won’t make any comment on any internal matter”.
“I always want opinion”.
“It’s the tone of language I’ve used [that was the problem]”.

“He is, by his own admission, a blunt and assertive figure in the dressing room and his short spell at Rangers has delivered little worth on the field”.
