Joey Chestnut Wins 2016 Nathan’s Famous Hot-Dog Eating Contest
Chaos ensued as protesters rushed the stage at the Coney Island hot dog eating contest.

Joey Chestnut was crowned the victor this year, making him a nine-time champion.
Among Chestnut’s curious eating accomplishments: In 2015, he ate 205 chicken wings in just 12 minutes, and earlier this year downed 30 gyros (Greek sandwiches) in 10 minutes. “This year was the best ever”. He won eight straight competitions in a row before losing the Mustard Yellow International Belt to Stonie past year in an upset.
World-ranked competitive eater Joey Chestnut retook his title as the top competitive eater at Nathan’s Hotdog eating contest.
Joey “Jaws” Chestnut scarfed down 70 hot dogs in 10 minutes at Nathan’s Famous hot dog eating contest in Coney Island Monday to break his own gustatory record and snatch the belt from defending champion Matt “The Megatoad” Stonie.
Stonie said there were “no excuses” for his loss.
After being upset last year by fellow San Jose, California-native Matt Stonie, this year, Chestnut came roaring back with a vengeance. He said Chestnut did an wonderful job.
Nathan’s Famous is celebrating 100 years in Coney Island this year.
That marks the most hot dogs ever consumed by a human being in that amount of time at this event.
The colourful holiday tradition draws its share of characters.

In the women’s competition, the No. 1 women’s eating champ Miki Sudo, of Las Vegas, bested the competition by downing 38 dogs. Many in the crowd Monday wore foam hats shaped like hot dogs.
