The couple recently released a new album, Hymns, which soared to the top place on Billboard’s Top Country Albums and Top Christian Albums chart. The couple, Joey + Rory, was nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at this year’s Grammys. The album also charted at Number Four on the all-genre Billboard 200. The success of having their career best sales week, however, comes amid the knowledge that this will be their last album together because of Joey’s terminal cancer.
The family decorated the room where Joey is staying so the whole family could celebrate together … and IN celebrated hard when it came time for cake.
“When a mother can’t get to the kitchen, but wants so much to help make her family dinner… you bring the kitchen to mama”, Rory captioned his Instagram picture, which shows the cancer-stricken 40-year-old mother chopping vegetables in a blender.
The support for Joey and Rory to win the Grammy was overwhelming.
In the video below we see the genuine love that Joey and Rory have for each other, a love that has enabled Joey to defy the odds that her medical professionals gave her. It was Little Big Town who took home the honors with “Girl Crush”.
In a November 2015 interview with The Tennessean, Joey insists she’s not mad at any higher power about her affliction. Her husband details her cherished remaining days in his blog, This Life I Live and on Facebook. “I’ll know the victor before you do'”.
“This has been a week to remember”, the country singer wrote on the family’s blog, thislifeilive.com, where he has been keeping family, friends and fans up to date with his wife’s battle with terminal cancer.

“Thank you Lord that we were able to all be together for this special day, for this special week”, Rory wrote. “One more. IN signing and soaking up the sun to a Firekid song”, they wrote captioning the post.
