Joey Martin Feek Stops Cancer Treatment
She underwent surgery for colorectal cancer in July (15) and was said to be doing well, but on Friday (23Oct15), her bandmate and husband Rory Feek revealed the tumours have returned and there is no modern medicine available to her as she treats the aggressive condition.

In a post titled “Enough” on Rory’s blog This Life I Live, he explained his wife’s prognosis, and why they made the decision to stop treatment. “Joey and I will continue to pray for a miracle”, Rory writes. “And you have to wipe the tears from your cheeks and say the words that you were hoping to never have to say …”
“The doctors gave us an estimate of how much time they believe that Joey has, and we both looked at the calendar that hangs by our kitchen door, then I took the calendar off the wall and threw in the trash can”, he continued.
In 2014, she had surgery about 4 months after her daughter was born, who has down syndrome.
“To put our hands in each other’s and sit out on the back porch and watch the sunset as our sweet little baby girl plays on a blanket in front of us”, he wrote.
Our most heartfelt prayers go out to Joey, Rory and their lovely family.
Joey + Rory and Carrie Underwood were a couple of the big winners as far as the Inspirational Country Music Awards of 2015 are concerned.
Joey recently celebrated her fortieth birthday with a picnic, surrounded by joyous friends and family.
Rory Feek said that they came home.
“It is with great regret that we must cancel our November and December Joey + Rory Farmhouse Concert dates effective immediately due to Joey’s health”, a statement posted to the Feek’s website reads. Doctors found what appeared to be tumors that had spread to her abdomen via Connecticut scans earlier this week. “And so we do”.
