“If I can be loved by the gay fraternity why shouldn’t I portray one in good faith for all their love and support over the years?”, Akshay asked. “By the time they reach Port of Spain for the next test, we will be organising a screening for them”. Trade sources said that with gross figure of Rs 13.34 crore in overseas, “Dishoom” is Varun Dhawan’s highest opening weekend grosser. But the incredible response I’ve received from so many people is what makes this so fantastic. I wanted to see the reaction. Says the actor, “I never go for awards functions”. When I went, people came out of the theatre and I had to run out. And Mysore, Bengaluru and Gurgaon circuit is shut due to rains. We got three stars from some of the tough critics. “People expected and told me that since John Abraham is there in the film, so in the beginning there should be a punch scene”. The film’s apparent “ban” as Indian media is reporting has made the lead actors quite angry, with Dhawan criticising the decision every now and then publicly.

His comedy timing and punches were compared with the King of Comedy Govinda, his attitude, charisma and body language with that of Salman Khan and his twinkling romance and emotional prowess with ShahRukh Khan. There were people who missed action but Rohit Dhawan was right in his own way.

John Abraham is tough cookie who wouldn’t crumble against pressure not even when the local middle east specialist warns him from taking law onto his hand where his jurisdiction is limited. Dishoom was officially released on 29th July 2016 and really loved by the audience.
