Opening Raw with Orton and Ambrose will always get my approval. They talked about their match with the remaining Wyatt family members for Hell In A Cell but soon The New Day interrupted and I have to admit, they’re growing on me.
Packing the first hour of Raw – when many viewers are checking in and deciding whether they want to stick with the show or flip over to Monday Night Football – with so much drivel, particularly in an environment where Raw’s ratings are eroding and cratering each week was a questionable and ill-advised move on WWE’s part. Upon Cena’s return in December, the rivalry with Ziggler would then be renewed. And what’s next for Sasha Banks as she seems to be on her way toward a possible shot at Charlotte’s Divas Title?
The ensuing bout was a solid TV match that included a few great action and a few typically creative New Day shenanigans (this time with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston outside the ring, providing their own commentary and “interviewing” a battered Ziggler with imaginary microphones) before Big E picked up a tainted win with the aid of his New Day partners. Cesaro and Neville by pinfall after Barrett hit Neville with a Bull Hammer from the outside and Sheamus pinned him.
Dean Ambrose makes his way to the ring. The IC Title has somehow grown silent lately though the win by Owens over Ryback was something that many had not expected. She lays into him and then slaps him. The finish in this one saw Twin Magic nearly go wrong for Nikki Bella, as Brie was being stopped, however, Nikki used the distraction to hit her Rack Attack finisher for the victory.

With all those matches in store, it will be interesting to see what the WWE plans for Kevin Owens and his Intercontinental title. Despite the fact that Rollins has been at the mercy of “The Demon” Kane, Rollins, who has a penchant for winning matches when he has to, will come up big and put Kane to rest, once and for all. With the phone hung up, he then said he and Seth Rollins would have a Lumberjack Match.
