“The people of our country changed me with the stories of their lives”, Kasich said, reminiscing about the individuals he met on the campaign trail.

John Kasich will suspend his presidential campaign Wednesday afternoon, according to campaign sources.

“If she wants to go the low road, I’m fine with that”, he told O’Reilly.

Trump’s win in IN made him the presumptive presidential nominee.

His comments came a few hours after Trump, once dismissed as a fringe contender, became all-but certainly the leader of the Republican Party into the fall campaign against Clinton. But on Wednesday, multiple outlets, including Politico and MSNBC, reported that his campaign is set to end. He did not mention whether he would support Trump in the general election.

And Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, tweeted that Donald Trump is the presumptive GOP nominee Tuesday night.

“We don’t have one”, said Brigid Harrison, a professor at Montclair State University.

Trump has also said that he would be interested in vetting Kasich as a running mate, but it’s unclear whether Kasich would be interested in the job. On May 4, he confirmed that one of the names on that list is that of Texas Sen.

Kasich thanked his family, his campaign team and the volunteers who have worked on his campaign effort in recent months, but he acknowledged the futility of continuing with the electoral fight, given that he had only been able to win 154 delegates, to nearly 1,000 so far for Trump.

Mr Kasich had been widely seen as the most moderate and electable Republican candidate and polled well against Hillary Trump, but that did not garner him enough support among Republican voters.

In April, he said there is “zero chance” of becoming vice president, to anyone – specifically Mr Trump – arguing that he’s more of a president, not a vice president.

Mrs Clinton said Mr Trump would have to offer policy specifics in the lead up to the election and that she knows how to run against him.
