The event will be held at the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.

Kasich is staking his campaign on winning the New Hampshire primary.

Bentley told AL.com he decided to endorse Kasich mainly because of his concern for others.

Kasich said that Republicans “allowed themselves to be put in a box”, and that conservatism “is giving everybody a chance to be successful”.

The Ohio governor also landed the final spot at the first GOP debate on August 7, where he stood by his unorthodox (for a Republican) positions on Medicaid and same-sex marriage.

Kasich also said that he felt that it was wrong to keep people with mental health issues in jail, instead of treating them. “He’s amusing. He’s quick. And he’s been very nice to me”.

Kasich entered the race less than a month ago.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz said, “I am blessed to receive a word from God every day in receiving the scriptures and reading the scriptures”. Hansen managed Kasich’s 2010 gubernatorial campaign and in 2011 took a leave of absence to work with Building a Better Ohio, the non-profit campaign organization working against repeal of state legislation that curtailed bargaining power among public workers.

Bentley gave his support to Kasich after saying he was “impressed with his message”.

Still, Bentley’s endorsement of Kasich will come despite differences in their approach to the Affordable Care Act, the Wall Street Journal notes. Charles E. Grassley (R) and speak at the storied Des Moines Register Soapbox, the Post reports.
