John Kasich: Not Supporting Trump Is ‘A Matter Of Conscience For Me’

Gov. John Kasich took the stage at Ohio’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, steering clear of his party’s national convention just down the street, and delivered a speech hinting at another run for the White House in 2020, if Trump is unsuccessful in November. Such a ticket would be analogous to a merger of two corporations (neither all that appealing to me) with very different philosophies and styles, as Kasich reportedly told Trump. I said I must correct you, it’s multi-generational. Do you really believe I would say, ‘(John Kasich) is in charge of foreign and domestic policy and (Donald Trump) will focus on making America great again’?

Kasich offered his supporters in OH words of hope and inspiration.

Donald Trump Jr. went to a Kasich adviser with an offer, the report in the New York Times Magazine, said: if Kasich joined the ticket, he could be “the most powerful vice president in history”.

Members of the OH delegation cheer as delegates are pledged to Gov. John Kasich on Tuesday in Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

CNN reports that a Trump aide also dismissed the news that was first reported by The New York Times.

She told the Radio Results Network today that even though delegates were technically “unbounded” when Kasich suspended his presidential campaign, he did not free them to vote for Trump. That is, everywhere except the Republican National Convention.

Kasich has angered Team Trump by declining to endorse the nominee or participate in convention proceedings. But the criticism this week of Kasich by Trump and his campaign chief has jeopardized the plan.

“Well, no more than what happened to Saul on the road to Damsacus when he got knocked off his donkey and became, later, Paul and later wrote two-thirds of the New Testament”, Kasich said.

Kasich has said that that Trump must significantly change his rhetoric for him to endorse the billionaire.

“That’s what needs to be done in Washington D.C. with the new president of the United States named Donald Trump and his vice president, Mike Pence, and with a Republican Senate that can work with them to restore that American Dream”. Kasich was bested by Trump in the presidential primaries and remains critical of the real estate mogul, refusing to attend the conventions main events. “Governor Kasich is just being a sore loser”, Miller said.
