John Legend to perform anthem at Game 1 of NBA Finals

Curry had said he hoped the visiting locker room at Quicken Loans Arena still smelled like champagne from the Golden State Warriors’ championship celebration, a remark that did not seem to sit well with James and the Cavaliers.

The Sharks shed 25 years of playoff disappointment this year when they made it to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time ever. “I think there’s faces because it’s such a star-driven league, and players really make the league because there are so many great athletes”.

But you wouldn’t know it seeing Curry’s performance in Game 7 against the Thunder, scoring 36 points and draining three-pointers late to seal the series.

For his part, Curry adds that while said storylines are the ones that pique the fans’ interest, the most important aspect would still be coming out on top to bring another title back to their home state.

“What really scared me was the process of getting back, of learning how to walk again, how to do things again, and trying to be at the same level that I was past year – I just had to get out of my own way”, Irving said.

James says it’s not for him to debate the merits of Varejao getting a ring if the Cavaliers win, but he admires his long-time Cleveland teammate even in a rival uniform. “So obviously you guys ran with it”. “It doesn’t matter who we’re playing”.

“At the end of the day, that’s all I’m anxious about”, Curry said.

“They can score 9 points in 30 seconds”.

The Heat lost the 2011 and 2014 finals and won the 2012 and 2013 National Basketball Association titles before James returned home vowing to make the Cavs a champion.

“Cleveland is rested and they look awesome in the playoffs, but the Warriors battled their way and proved they can battle”.

The Cavaliers, under new head coach Tyronn Lue, have found success by following the Warriors’ lead with a small ball line-up.

James is back in the Finals for the sixth consecutive time, an accomplishment reached by only a handful of players, mostly those on the great Celtics teams of the 1960s, including Bill Russell.

“Coming in past year, we had no idea what to expect”. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors will meet in a highly-anticipated rematch, but this time around, both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love will be available to play.

The Warriors can relate, having lost reigning two-time MVP Stephen Curry to injuries earlier in the playoffs against the Portland Trailblazers, and it wasn’t until a few games ago in the Thunder series that Curry started to regain some of his regular season form.

“The one thing with Steph is he understands that with all these accolades, MVPs, commercials, with all that comes great responsibility to his team, to the organization, the fans”.

Klay Thompson of the Warriors may have the best perspective on this in saying there can’t be “just a face in the NBA” because “it’s a star-driven league”. “We’ve still got to go out and do it”. The fact that we’re going back-to-back I think is pretty unique.
