The malcontent had spent most of the day there, even getting Lennon to sign a copy of his latest album as he departed earlier, a momentous moment captured on camera by an unknowing fan.

In a poignant message to her followers (complete with a graphic photo of her late husband’s bloodied sunglasses), Ono writes that there have been more than one million victims of gun violence in the U.S. since Lennon’s murder.

In recent years it appears there have been countless mass shootings taking the lives of innocents in the United States – most recently a pair of killers shot up a disability centre in San Bernardino, California on 2 December (15), leaving 14 people dead and 21 injured. Chapman can try again for parole next year. “The airline knows the gun is there, the TSA knows, and you’re declaring it, but they’re not doing the second piece, which is asking whether the firearm is licensed in the ultimate destination where you’re going”, said attorney Jeremy Saland, who represents gun owners in airport arrest cases.

“We have been strolling residence one night time alongside Central Park West on December 8 and we handed the Dakota”. There was all this fracas and it was the night when John Lennon got shot.

The Beatles star was 40 years old then. Despite being rushed to the nearby Roosevelt Hospital, the singer and peace campaigner was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

Lennon and his Japanese-born wife, Yoko Ono, were returning to their apartment from a recording session when the shots rang out.

In an interview earlier this year- his first major interview in five years – Lennon said he had wanted to leave the Beatles as early as 1966 but did not make the move until four years later because he “just didn’t have the guts”. The “Strawberry Fields” section was landscaped by Yoko Ono. An unacknowledged President who stood for peace, Lennon is inextricable from their memories of Vietnam and the moratoriums…. “Police said he was hit in the back”. “John Lennon was just a complete c***!”
