John Lennon fans on Friday marked what would have been the slain Beatle’s 75th birthday with a sing-in of his greatest tunes in New York’s Central Park.

Both McCartney and Lennon lauded Harry Nilsson as one of their favorite American artists, and when Lennon moved to Los Angeles in 1973 – as part of his separation from Yoko Ono known as his “Lost Weekend” – he took the Brooklyn native under his wing.

It would perhaps not be so hard to imagine how John Lennon would feel if he was still amongst us today.
The United Nations: In one of the weirder stories from Mr. Lennon’s canon, he claimed he saw a UFO “go down the river and turn right at” the UN. The two have also produced promotional Lennon material together. He called that time of his life his “fat Elvis period”. Ono says that she’s a little nervous before each lighting ceremony but that all of them are uniquely handsome.
A precociously talented musician, Lennon could play a variety of instruments.

The singer earned a huge fanbase with his Rock songs, however was often disappointed in the nature of his own voice as once mentioned by Beatles producer, George Martin. I’d like to think he found a few peace in the end, wouldn’t you agree?
It’s my hope that eventually we can let Lennon lie peaceably in the realm between “best person who ever lived” and “worst person who ever lived”, remembering him instead as a talented but damaged, and damaging, human being. “When they started burning our records…that was a real shock”, said John Lennon years later.
