John Oliver shows why 911 emergency call centers are desperately outdated
“You never want to be in a situation where you have to tell someone ‘I’m actually inside you right now'”.

John Oliver explained on Last Week Tonight why the emergency dispatch is in need of some overhaul.
In true John Oliver fashion, he tackles the topic with hilarity and shocking facts, like that the government has set a benchmark hoping to improve 911 so dispatchers can find one out of every five callers by 2021. Wow!
“We have a lot of faith in 911”, said Oliver.
The “man” in question here is one John Miller – or John Barron! – who, throughout the early 90s, acted as Donald Trump’s publicist, giving interviews to media outlets.
Finally, Oliver lambasted Trump over what many seem to believe was his fictional creation of a former publicist known as John Miller. He even began imitating his voice while on the phone with reporters.
This week was a freaky one for former Celebrity Apprentice host Donald J. Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for president. But even though Trump has admitted to posing as his own publicist in the past, he denied it was his voice in the video on the Today Show last week.
Oliver cites the death of Shanell Anderson in 2015 as a prime example of how 911 fails to adequately respond to emergency calls.
“OK, stop, because I understand the “genuine” part in the sense that Miller Genuine Draft is genuine-you know, it is the shitty thing that it is-but the only way that Trump could be described as “warm” is if you’re feeling leftover tanning bed heat radiating from his skin”, joked Oliver. He invited Miller to sit down for an interview on the show – and he emphasized that he wanted to talk to Miller, and was not extending an invitation to Trump.

Oliver will even kindly provide Miller with a few of his favorite things: Overcooked steaks, trashy porno mags, and a hand mirror.
