The “Night to Shine” event, put on by The Tim Tebow Foundation, welcomed anyone with special needs to experience a prom night.
Cadets from the SJNMA color guard will display the nation’s colors throughout prom night, along with the colors of SJNMA, the State of Wisconsin, Bethesda and the Tim Tebow Foundation.
“Prom is awesome. I like it”, said 17-year-old Sidge Taylor, who might never go to his prom at Eustis High School. “It’s a special, special night”, says Lead Pastor at True North Church, Steve Davis.
More than 150 people attended the ball. They got to pick out prom dresses and got their nails, hair and makeup done. Each man at the prom was also treated to shoe shining, and a corsage. “And we want all of them to understand Jesus’ love for them”, said Kristin Hamilton, Co-Director of the Prom.
“We just want it to be a great time”, committee member Aaron Hill said. “We are overwhelmed. Just watching them I’ve cried all night long”. “After such an unbelievable response to the inaugural event held in 44 locations earlier this year, our prayer is that this event will one day change the face of Valentine’s Day weekend from simply a celebration of love, to a celebration of God’s love for people with special needs”.

Another guest, Samantha Taylor said, “It means a lot, being able to get out and hang out with other adults”.
