John’s Take: Rams trade could help Browns
The Los Angeles Rams have landed one of the most compelling turnarounds in its franchise start for the season as they were able to get the number one overall pick from the Tennessee Titans in the upcoming NFL Draft that will take place starting on April 28 in Chicago.

“Our philosophy has always been to build through the draft”, Rams general manager Les Snead stated, according to the report.
Although it now seems that the Rams are hiding their intentions due more to showmanship than strategy, the possibility (slim as it may be) of getting their man and getting some picks back becomes the best reason for keeping a close lid on what they plan to do. Tennessee also gets the Rams’ first- and third-round picks in the 2017 draft.
It was a foregone conclusion the Titans were going to draft Jeremy Tunsil, offensive tackle from Ole Miss, as the first overall draft pick. As for the Redskins, they made the playoffs in 2012 because of stellar quarterback play from Robert Griffin III. “We appreciate working with the Titans on an opportunity that can benefit both organizations”.
I don’t have a particular trade partner in mind, but the Browns could very well take the No. 32 overall pick and sell it to the highest bidder.
That means for the second year in a row, a quarterback will be the first-overall pick.
On Thursday, the Rams jumped ahead nearly the entire league and into the number one spot overall by making the deal with the Titans.
Tennessee has six of this draft’s first 76 picks. Robinson, hired in January, is looking to rebuild a franchise that has gone 5-27 the past two seasons.
“Obviously, that’s something we’d have to look at”, he said.
Jerry Jones says he’s not surprised by the Rams’ blockbuster trade. “You guys probably know as much as we do”. “It gives us options”. The Dallas Cowboys owner is no stranger to big trades, having pulled off many in his days – the biggest involving Herschel Walker. We want to have the same thing with the draft.
“Well we all saw what the Titans could get from the Crams earlier and we figured we could hoodwink some dumb team as well”.
In what’s sure to be a budding rivalry, the Los Angeles Rams threw the first punch at the San Francisco 49ers.

“There most certainly will be a good football player at 15”, Robinson said. For all the praise they got at the time, four years later they feel like they similarly had to give up a bounty to go get a quarterback. He is now an unrestricted free agent. Given the Rams-Titans trade, here are the top three takeaways that New York Jets fans should expect heading into the draft.
