John Terry To Depart Chelsea In Summer
The 35-year-old central defender has spent his entire career at Chelsea and last May won the Premier League title for the fourth time.

Terry had been hoping to secure a 12-month extension but was informed by the club of their decision prior to last week’s win at Arsenal. I knew before the Arsenal game [that my contract was not to be renewed] so mentally I’ve kind of accepted it. We just have to move on. Former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho kept Terry benched for most of the season.
“I think he still has a role to play”.
“Unfortunately, it was a no. It took me a couple of days to get over”.
The Blues stalwart revealed on Sunday that he has been told he won’t be offered a new deal at the club. It’s a no at the minute. I always consider that I’m paid for my commitment to the club and I’m well paid so once it is over the club owes me nothing and I have to get on with my life and find another way. “It will be elsewhere for sure”, said Terry. I don’t know where, and I leave that to the people in charge of me.
The centre-back was apparently frustrated by the fact that Chelsea’s hierarchy meant to consult the manager they were going to appoint permanently before deciding on whether or not to hand Terry a new contract. You have to see what’s coming up with the transition of the new manager as well.
He said: “I can say, theoretically, no one is irreplaceable”. ‘I am convinced because we also talked about this issue’.
“But John is doing perfectly in his performances, so I’m not suggesting anything, but we spoke about things”.
Reports have also said that the 35-year-old England national team captain is not considering a transfer to a rival English Premier League club as he is a “Blue by heart” and always will.
He is the highest Premier League defender with the highest goals ever 40.
Keown won two of his three Premier League titles playing alongside Gunners icon Adams, who made over 500 league appearances for the north London side and captained England on 66 occasions.
Terry was not an automatic choice thereafter.
And even if he does depart in the summer, Terry’s current boss is convinced he will give his all in what remains of potentially his last Chelsea season.

“It will be a very long, very emotional goodbye for him now”.
