John Wall doesn’t expect to make Team USA roster for Rio Olympics

I’m used to it. Just more motivation and fuel to my fire.

Wall further stated that: “Chris Paul has already won one (an Olympic gold)”. Steph Curry had an incredible last year and just won the World Cup.

Wall also noted that Team USA will probably not have a mini camp next year.

Though the network said Wall was fairly light-hearted during the conversation and joking about his assumed fate, he also said he intends to use the predicted slight to help motivate him. However, for the Washington Wizards star point guard, he probably won’t make the final cut. As for fantasy basketball, he’ll cost you a first-round selection on draft day. And even if the 24-year-old Wall pulled off a shocker and beat out Irving, he would still have Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley Jr.to compete with.

Wall is arguably a top-5 point guard in the National Basketball Association right now, so it’s unusual to exclude him out of a team that could need distribution and defense – both aspects of the game that he’s better at than anyone on the roster. Admittedly, however, a big problem is that Wall isn’t as lethal a scorer as either of those two, particularly when it comes to outside shooting, which is a major boon in global competition.

You have to hand it to Wall.

The team will eventually be whittled down to 12.

Names came up such as Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, James Harden, Blake Griffin and Paul George. DeMarcus Cousins will be a consideration as wlel. The 24-year-old two-time All-Star is making it clear that he’s not bitter.

“It’s tough, but I’ve been overlooked my whole career”.

Wall could possibly change the dynamic with a huge season, and he said that he just found some more “motivation” to have one. “Great group of guys over there”.

The U.S. roster usually only has three PGs once they cut the player pool down to size, but chairman Jerry Colangelo should still consider bringing Wall to Rio.

“I appreciate everything they do”. “This is a new community for me, so I want to get off to a good start”.
