Last week, Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp announced they would be releasing an album with some of their closest friends as the Hollywood Vampires, in honor of the gathering place for rock stars living in or passing through Los Angeles back in the 70s. Tickets for the events will go on sale this Friday, August 14, at 10 a.m. PT via Ticketfly.com.

“To join the club, one simply had to out drink all of the members”, says Alice Cooper, a founding member of the Vampires. “Among the stars Copper would run into at the watering hole were Lennon, Nilsson, Hendrix, The Who’s Keith Moon, The Doors” Jim Morrison, The Monkees’ Mickey Dolenz, and Elton John lyricist Bernie Taupin. Cooper’s crew – which is issuing its debut album, Hollywood Vampires, on September 11th – plans on keeping true to its moniker’s origins.

This is definitely not just the three guys fooling around jamming together – they’ve officially announced live show dates.

“Hearing connects us to life, our families and to the world around us”, said Bill Austin, founder of Starkey Hearing Foundation. Alice and Johnny were joined by Joe Perry, who is an old friend of both of them, and with producer Bob Ezrin, the recording began: a tribute to the original Hollywood Vampires.

Proceeds from the album will profit MusiCares, which offers monetary and private help to musicians. However, before the Rio gig, Hollywood Vampires are meeting with Starkey Hearing Foundation to assist 150 people with hearing aids.
