Johnny Depp and Amber Heard part ways after 15 months of marriage

Heard reportedly filed for divorce from Johnny just 15 months after they married, just days after Depp’s mum Betty Sue passed away.

In the court papers, Texan-born Heard listed the separation date as Sunday.

Celebrity news website TMZ reported that Depp had asked a judge to reject Heard’s claim for spousal support.

Perez Hilton says that though neither Depp nor Heard have officially commented on the split, rumours of “trouble in paradise” were circling before their wedding. The father-of-two is mourning the loss of his beloved mother Betty Sue Palmer, who died aged 81 after a long illness just three days before the divorce petition was filed. A source also said the pair didn’t have a prenuptial agreement, and Heard is asking for spousal support.

A number of sources connected them said, Johnny’s 2 teenage kids, his 2 sisters and his mom “hated” Amber, and openly discussed it.

They married in a small, private ceremony in Los Angeles in February previous year before celebrating at a larger event on Depp’s private island in the Bahamas.

The pair are believed to have gotten engaged during Christmas 2013, then married in a small ceremony at their LA home in February 2015.

And this isn’t a week where Depp can really keep a low profile; he’s meant to be in the public eye promoting his movie “Alice Through the Looking Glass”, which – more bad news – only has a 31 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Depp was previously in a long-term relationship with model Vanessa Paradis, from 1998 to 2012, with whom he has two children, Lily-Rose, 16, and Jack, 13.

Depp and Heard made global headlines past year when they ran into legal trouble for bringing their Yorkshire terriers, Pistol and Boo, into Australia as Depp was filming the latest “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie, breaching the country’s tight biosecurity laws.

The couple also had to shoot an awkward video about Australia’s quarantine laws.
