Johnny Depp Made A Secret Cameo On ‘The Walking Dead’

And though ALL of the actor wasn’t in last night’s episode of The Walking Dead, his famous face did appear on screen – in the form of a decapitated head!

“I don’t know if I’m going to get in trouble if I say this, [it] was Johnny Depp“, he spilled. Nicotero revealed to Entertainment Weekly that while a sculpt of his own head was the one Rick ultimately used, Depp was in there as well.

The Walking Dead doesn’t usually have much time for humor.

It’s OK if you didn’t notice the actor’s brief appearance, since it happened very fast and wasn’t exactly a traditional celebrity cameo.

Tell us, HollywoodLifers – Which one of the heads do YOU think was made from Johnny’s mold?

Johnny Depp, is that really you?

Depp’s head is presumably on the right. They cut off the heads of three Walkers, pick the one that looks closest to Gregory’s head, and punch it in the nose a few times since it’s not a ideal match (though the fact that it comes close at all is a bit strained). So in the scene where Rick is trying to figure out which “Gregory head” looks the most convincing, it’s actually Nicotero’s head that gets used.

Depp’s head can be seen on the far right in the image above.

Greg Nicotero told Entertainment Weekly the three heads were clay models from the prop department, and they had some special inspiration.

Another tweeted: “Was that… was that Johnny Depp’s head???” He might want to keep the head that was inspired by him but he’d most likely have to fight Norman Reedus for it. Nicotero also divulged during the interview that Reedus has dibs on the walker heads and asked the TWD director if he could have them when they were done filming with them.

And probably even Norman Reedus keeping it on his mantle! “I said we’ve got the wait until the picture is logged”.
